How do I secure my account using a desktop App?
If you do not have a secondary mobile device or choose not to use it, there are desktop authenticators that are available for multi-factor authentication (MFA) like the authenticator.cc browser extension.
Must know:
- Each user on your Worldline merchant account must enroll in MFA on the portal.
- We recommend setting up MFA on a secondary device to enhance the security of your data and align with best practices for MFA.
How do I enroll?
Step 1: Install Authenticator.CC Extension
- Within a web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) visit authenticator.cc
- Click the blue 'Add to [Browser Name]' button. If you want to add the extension to a different browser, click the drop-down arrow next to the button.
- Follow the prompts to add the extension to your browser.
Step 2: Pin the Extension
We recommend pinning the extension to your toolbar to ensure quick access to it. Please note that the steps to do this may vary slightly depending on your browser.
Click the Extensions icon (e.g., puzzle piece) in the top-right corner of your browser toolbar.
- For Chrome and Edge, click the pin icon to pin the extension.
- For Firefox, right-click the extension and select "Pin to Toolbar."
Step 3: Manually Add a QR Code
- Log in to your account.
- Copy the secret key next to the QR code on the enrollment screen.
- Click on the Authenticator.cc icon that you pinned above.
- In the authenticator, click the pencil icon in the top left corner, then select the + Add Account button.
- Choose Manual Entry.
- In the Issuer field, enter the name of the portal you are enrolling in.
- In the Secret field, paste the secret key you copied earlier.
- Click OK.
- Click the timed one-time password (the six-digit number) to copy the code.
- Paste the six-digit code into the field below the QR code on the enrollment screen for step 4.
- After clicking Submit, you should see a confirmation message indicating that you have successfully enrolled in MFA!
Logging in
You will need your login credentials (username and password) and a six-digit code from the authenticator extension each time you log in. Remember, you cannot use the same passcode used during enrollment; open the authenticator extension from your toolbar for a unique code each time.
Good to know:
- It is important to complete the add account step right after you login on your merchant portal as the code expire after a limited time.
- Can’t add the secret key: Double-check for typos or extra spaces when copying and pasting the secret key.
